Blessings...from a bag?

Over the last week or so, the Lord has blessed me with bags!

No, not the ones under my eyes or around my waist....lol!

But, bags filled to the brim with thoughtfulness, generosity, encouragement and love.

You may be thinking to yourself: "You can't put those things in a bag...".

But, take a look for yourself!

Here's what was inside the first bag, given to me last Sunday evening at church.

Super Cute! And *exactly* what she needs!

Then, Wednesday night after we got home from church, my husband came to me and said: "Oh, Honey, Mrs. --- gave us a bag full of stuff. It's in the van." Check out what was in that bag!

There is easily a week's worth of food (we already used some!) and a couple months worth of cereal!!!
Then! After the boys were done with their slumber party shenanigans (post coming soon), Dan Jr. says to me: "Oh, yeah, MOM! Mrs. --- dropped this off for you!" Here's what was inside!!

There is still so much more inside, I only pulled out the first few things!
AND THEN!

As I was putting all of these things away, I discovered some things that were given to me at my shower and after Gen was born, that I had put away for "later". Well, guess what?! It's later! lol!

2 of these were purchased for $2 each at our local thrift store....betcha can't spot 'em!
Isn't it amazing how the Lord provides for His children? He doesn't always do it with money, and He doesn't always do it exactly how or when we ask, but He ALWAYS does it!!

I am grateful for far more than the tangible things that were in the bags, but what they represent.

I will praise Him for His provision, the thoughtfulness and generosity of our friends, the encouragement they were/are to me, and the love they have for us.

"But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in Glory by Christ Jesus." Phil 4:19

"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning." James 1:17

"Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall man give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again." Luke 6:38

  1. I love those kinds of bags. I was just bragging on the Lord yesterday telling a young family guy that the Lord never ceased to provide for our family of five children. And what is amazing is that when you wait upon the Lord, he gives the good stuff that I would never buy or could have afforded. I remember at one point my aunt was a nannie for a women with two little girls sizes right above both of my girls. She would often send HUGE garbage bags full of clothes for my girls....shoes, headbands, rights, matching outfits all from places like gymboree, and The kids place...etc. This took place for a few years and I was always so thankful and it was like Christmas everytime those bags were delivered. God is faithful to provide for his children, if we will sit and wait upon him. Thanks for sharing your blessings.

  5. God truly is amazing in his provision! And not just providing what we "need" but going above and beyond to give us the desires of our hearts. Thanks for sharing!!!
